For some time now Ive and an unhealthy interest in taxidermy; Although some people have negative connotations towards the preservation of animals, it has a uncanny resemblance to the work of a tailor this particular feature highlights a much more user friendly avenue to the traditional form we so knowingly relate to the term.
The word "taxidermy" is derived from two ancient Greek words; taxis, meaning movement; and derma, meaning skin. Therefore, loosely translated, taxidermy means the movement of skin. This is a fairly appropriate definition in this instance as the skins of these beautiful pieces are delicately crafted to create an aesthetically vibrant alternative to the usual stuffed animals expected of taxidermy.
Owning one of these pieces would be a a dream, especially the beautifully individual tapestry stag above............something that my bank balance will most definitely not stretch to!!!!!
