superstitions inspiration

Here are a few pages from a small book I've been making for my design inspiration for my current project based on superstitions and the reason in madness, Im hoping to use these as a starting point for my development process.

Saturday

an evening with some friends

being home for a few days i have managed to catch up with a few friends that I don't get to see as often as I would like.
We spent a lovely evening at the Print-works in Mirfield for the opening night of the exhibition "Chasing Tales" by  Wuon-Gean.

i very much enjoyed my evening and exploring the inspiration, origins and stimulus for these outcomes was lovely to hear, anyone in the area i would highly recommend to visit,

The show runs from 18th February to 24th March 2011

a little day out....................

A visit to the local shipley art gallery in gateshead came up with a lot of surprises, this particular exhibition is owed by the V&A so i couldn't take any photographs however i did get to try out some children's chairs the caterpillar pictured above was a personal favourite, overall a very interesting exhibition, and the shipley art gallery although small was packed with interesting pieces of art and design!

Dan Holdsworth’s Blackout, a series of 2m-wide C-type prints taken in Iceland,
Blackout continues the themes Holdsworth explored in his 2006 series Hyperborea, also shot in Iceland, which captured the aurora borealis. But here he jettisons that series’ lurid colour: the sky is pitch, the jagged mountains captured in black, whites and greys.
